Yingle is a free to use site. All users can create as many groups, mark schemes and predict on as many events as they choose.
3. Is Yingle a gambling or betting website?
Yingle is neither a betting nor a gambling site. Score predictions are free to make and users may only earn points for a correct prediction.

The first step is to sign up! You will receive an email to activate your account. Once that's complete, you can begin predicting on events, and creating or joining groups.

Usernames may not contain punctuation, nor begin or end with spaces, but they may contain complex characters (eg. "John Smith", "juan pérez 123", "张三").
3. How do I view my profile?
When you log in, you can find your profile link by clicking on your username at the top of your home page.

5. Do you ever share my details with 3rd parties?
Not at all. We do not believe in sharing your details with anyone else.
6. Why is my profile picture skewed?
Your profile picture will be shaped into a square. For best results please submit a square image.

If the image your are attempting to upload is too big, you can resize it in almost graphics package.
8. How do I log out of my account?
Click on the X in the console in the Yingle header.
9. How do I add a friend to my friends list?
If you view a user's profile and the user's settings allow for friend requests, there will be a friend request button on the top right of their profile. If these are not available, a user probably has their account set to not allow friend requests.
1. What is a group?
Groups allows a number of users to play and view the tables of specific events. If you want to create a score prediction league for you and your friends it is likely that you will need to create a group for you all to join. You can create one by clicking the create group on the Groups page, or by clicking here.
2. How do I join a group?
Groups have varying levels of privacy. Groups that are open are freely available for anyone to join. Some groups require a password to join, while others require you to send a request to the group administrator.
3. How are group points calculated?
Group scores are a sum of the best user event scores in the group, using the default mark schemes.
4. How do I add an event to my group?
If you are the administrator of a group there will be an option to add an event to your group on the event's page. You will be prompted to choose the group and a mark scheme. Once that has been completed all users in the group will be able to predict on that event in your group.
1. What are points?
Points are earned by making correct predictions in events on Yingle. Have a look at the event's mark scheme to see how many points you will earn for various predictions.
2. Why have my points decreased?
Points rarely decrease, but one common cause could be the score of a fixture being updated live. Under those circumstances your prediction may go from correct to incorrect which would subtract a small number of points.
3. What is reputation?
Your reputation represents your contribution to the forum. When you post on the forum people can upvote (or downvote) your comment. Your reputation is the sum of your upvotes minus the sum of your downvotes.
1. Which points contribute to my table place?
Points used in the table are from only solo play events. If you only play group events, your predictions will be used with the default mark scheme to calculate your points.
2. Will people see me in the table if I have my privacy on a restricted setting?
Your username and flag will appear, but other restricted users will still not be able to view your profile.
3. Why do my points vary on the main table and viewing in my groups?
When you view the site-wide table, default points are used. When you view the table for a group the mark schemes that were used in the events are used which may mean you score a different number of points.
1. What is an event?
An event is a sports competition that contains at least one fixture on which you can predict the final score.
2. How do I predict on an event?
To play an event a user must first have the event added to their event list. Once it has been added you will find a link to the predictions on the page for the event itself. Don't forget to save your predictions!
3. How do I add an event?
You can add an event to solo play by going to the event page and clicking the link to play this event. This will add the event to your solo play list.
4. What is solo play?
Solo play is when you predict on an event without it being related to a group. This will use the default mark scheme and be used in the main tables page. (If this event is added later as a group, your solo predictions should be copied into the event in its entirety.)
5. When do I have to make my predictions?
Your predictions for a fixture have to be made 10 minutes before the start of that fixture. You do not have to fill an entire season of fixtures in before any of them start!
6. If a mark scheme ignores circumstances (e.g. replays, extra-time, penalties, etc.) do I still need to input the result?
You do not have to fill in all result boxes, although if it is in solo play it may be worth doing so in case an administrator of one of your groups adds that event with a different mark scheme!
7. How do I view everyone else's predictions for a match?
You may only view other user's predictions once the match has begun. Simply go to your predictions and click on the blue "v" link in the middle of the fixture to view other predictions.
8. What happens if I miss a fixture?
Unfortunately if you miss a fixture you cannot go back and fill it in. You will just have to score more on the future predictions!
9. What happens if I join an event late? Can I still play
You can join an event at any time, but you will only be able to predict on fixtures that have not yet happened.
10. When do the results of the fixture get updated?
The time that fixtures are input can vary but typically will be input shortly after the end of the fixture.

On the top right of the post, there are two Yingle 'Y' icons. Clicking on will upvote the post while clicking on will downvote it.
5. Why should I upvote or downvote a post?
Ideally users will upvote a post because it contributes to the discussion and downvote posts that detract. Please do not downvote posts with which you simply disagree, only those which are not contributing to the discussion!

If you have upvoted a post, clicking the upvote button again will cancel the upvote without downvoting it. Conversely, clicking the downvote button will undo your previous downvote without upvoting it.
